  • Zoe Lee x Hyun Mi Nielsen RTW Spring 2019

“I have this thing about light and dark,” she said, pointing to her childhood in Denmark where the winters are very dark and the summers are very light." - designer Hyun Mi Nielsen-

    read the article  https://wwd.com/runway/spring-2019/paris/hyun-mi-nielsen/review/

The RTW spring 2019 open up with a light and dark atmosphere sourrounded by models walking wearing  black leather, piercings and chokers showing strong personality. All eyes turn to the "Clog" designed by the shoedesigner Zoe Lee for Hyun Mi Nielsen rtw Spring 2019.

The Clog by Zoe Lee seems to take the shape from the Sabot from France or sourrounding countries such as Belgium or Italy. Also, Clogs are often associated with whole foot style klompen from the Netherlands.

The Clog designed by Zoe Lee for HMN fashionshow are made up of a black split suede upper decorated all around by little studs and fixed to the sole by small silver nails.

Together with the accessories worn by models, The Clog gives an original touch to the classy-rock look of HMN rtw spring 2019 collection.

Take a look at the video of the work in progress of The Clog we realized for our designer Zoe Lee for her collaboration with designer Hyun Mi Nielsen.

  • Meet the designer: Ldtuttle

"Nobody understands the importance of quality and comfortable footwear quite like Tiffany Tuttle does. Before honing her fashion chops in Paris at Givenchy under Alexander McQueen, the founder of Los Angeles-based footwear label LD Tuttle traveled the world as a professional ballet dancer. As such, Tiffany (who also has Princeton grad on her resume), has a discerning knowledge of the factors that make up a really good shoe — that’s why each pair is crafted from buttery soft leathers in Italy, with a malleable shape and movement in mind. Plus, her visionary and fashion-forward POV makes her easy-to-wear silhouettes feel just as cutting edge as they are classic."

  • The art of artisanal shoes: Zoe Lee boutique in Paris

"Haut Marais attracts designers, not simply for its central location but for its unique creative energy.

The artisanal designer Zoe Lee creates sculptural shoes featuring her wood and resin heels, using only the best leather. Zoe’s collection of feminine footwear takes on the form of wearable art – fitting considering the boutique’s location, surrounded by galleries. This globally raised designer has become a staple of the Haut Marais since 2013."

  • Day in the Life: Dear Frances designer Jane Frances by JESSICA SCHIFFER

"Before we can settle down for dinner, we have one last meeting scheduled with our factory in Italy. We usually Skype when I’m in Australia, and it’s always nice to see their bright faces smiling back. Our factory is like family, so it’s not only a production catch-up, but also an opportunity to chat with friends. Our meetings almost always go overtime, and an hour-and-a-half passes before we say goodbye."

  • Meet the designer: Zoe Lee

"One can tell by looking at the craftsmanship of the shoes that they are impeccably made. Lee’s shoes are constructed by an artisanal, fifth generation shoemaker in Vigevano, Italy, outside of Milan. The leather and various other components of the shoes are sourced and constructed in Italy and France. The insoles are lined with memory foam for comfort and each sole has a square, rubber injection for anti-slide benefits. In addition, there is a sustainability factor to Lee’s company, as many of the exotic skins used as material are sourced from factory stocks, where the quantity is too small for a normal production run and would otherwise go to waste".
